How to Use This Kit
What you already have
You paid for this Kit. Here is exactly what you got.
The Kit has three parts. This course is the first part. It walks you through the whole Academy Model, one piece at a time, in plain words. The Launch Checklist is the second part. It lives inside this course, as Module 6. It turns everything you learn into ten steps, in order. Business Academy Volume I is the third part. It is a separate course. Look for it in your course library, next to this one.
Read the three parts in that order: this course first, the checklist inside it second, then Business Academy Volume I.
Who this course is written for
You do not need to be a martial artist. You do not need a business degree either.
This course is for a leader. Maybe you already run a business, a gym, a school, or a community program. Maybe you have not started anything yet, but you have the capital to start one. Either way, you want to see the whole model written down before you spend anything else. That is exactly what this course gives you.
We separate two jobs everywhere in this course: running the business, and delivering the training. You run the business. A system, plus certified instructors, deliver the training. Module 5 explains that split in full, including how much of your own time it actually takes each week.
How long this takes
Reading this course start to finish takes about four hours.
Doing the worksheets takes longer than that, and the extra time is worth it. Every module ends with at least one worksheet, checklist, or table built around your own numbers, not ours. Fill each one in as you go, in your own city, with your own guesses. A worksheet you skip is just a page you paid for and never used.
This course is not padded to sound bigger than it is. It is long enough to cover eight revenue streams, one operating system, and ten launch steps in real depth. It is short enough that you can finish it in one evening if you sit down and read.
How to read every number in this course
Some numbers here are documented. That word means they are real results, recorded, from a real academy. They come from our own academies in Virginia (Virginia Beach from 2015, Norfolk from 2019), or from Keith Nye's academy in Norwich, Connecticut. We say so plainly whenever that is true.
Other numbers are illustrative. That word means an example built to teach you the math, not a promise about your results. We use small, round, made-up numbers to walk through math like this. We never present an illustrative number as something you should expect for yourself.
Every lesson that shows a dollar figure or a percentage ends with the same disclaimer paragraph. You will see it many times in this course. It says results vary, that many operators earn less, and that some earn nothing. We label every number for that reason. A number without a label is a number you cannot trust, in this course or anywhere else.
The reading order
Work through the seven modules below in order. Each one leans on the module before it, so skipping ahead usually means backing up later to fill in a gap you missed.
Worksheet: your reading order
| Order | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Read this course, start to finish | It gives you the whole map before you decide anything |
| 2 | Work the Launch Checklist in Module 6 against your own city | It turns the model into ten things you can do this week |
| 3 | Open Business Academy Volume I | It is the operating foundation under every step in the checklist |
What you will be able to do
By the end of this course, you will know three things. You will know what the model produces at full capacity. You will know what a realistic first year looks like. And you will know your own first five moves, in your own city, with your own numbers filled in.
None of that requires you to take our word for anything. Every number that matters gets its own worked example, and every worked example gets its own worksheet, so you can check the math yourself before you decide anything.
In one sentence: This Kit is a written system, so read this course in order, fill in the worksheets with your own numbers, and use the Launch Checklist in Module 6 as your map.
Do this now: Set a timer for ten minutes. Open your course library and confirm you can see both this course and Business Academy Volume I. Then write down the one module title, from the diagram above, that you are most curious about.
The Kit is step one. Every step above it is public and priced: the six-week Pilot on your own floor, Instructor Certification, and the Mobile and Partner licenses. Every dollar you spend on one step credits toward the next, and nobody needs a call to move up. The last lesson of this course lays the whole ladder out. Read at your own pace.
