About Club Sabernet
We Are the Warriors Behind the Warriors.
Club Sabernet is the official online community of Light Sword Training Academy, a fully structured light sword martial art of nine forms. We are not a fan page. We are not a forum for collectors. We are a living, breathing community of warriors who train, rank up, compete, and push each other toward something greater than any one of us could build alone.
If you found us, it was not by accident.
Where It All Started
Light Sword Training Academy was founded with one audacious idea: that light sword combat could be more than a hobby. That it could be a complete, legitimate martial art with real forms, a real rank system, and a real path to international recognition.
The nine forms are the work of Sijo Nathan Young. The academy and its teaching were built by Sifu Edward Armstrong and Sifu Julliana Armstrong, who have taught on military bases and trained 1,500+ warriors. LSTA did not just adopt a sport. It built a discipline around it.
Club Sabernet was born from that mission: a place where the warriors who are building this movement can connect, grow, and belong.
What We Believe
We believe the saber on your shelf deserves better. Most people who own a saber have never been taught to wield one. We exist for the ones who feel that gap and want to close it.
We believe rank means something. Every sash in our system is earned, not bought. From White to Black, the path is structured and the progression is real. Your rank tells the story of your journey, and we honor that.
We believe community accelerates everything. The fastest path to your next sash runs through the people around you. A warrior without a community trains alone. A warrior with one trains unstoppable.
We believe this is historic. The Light Sword Martial Arts Federation governs the sport and is carrying it along a formal pathway toward international recognition. The warriors in this community right now are the founding generation. What we build here matters.
What Club Sabernet Is
Club Sabernet is where the LSTA community lives between training sessions. It is where:
Warriors connect: find your people, make friends, build relationships that extend beyond the mat and into the rest of your life.
Knowledge flows: discuss the nine forms, share training tips, break down techniques, and learn from warriors at every level of the journey.
Milestones are celebrated: every new sash earned is celebrated here. Every rank promotion is witnessed by your community. Every win belongs to all of us.
Content comes alive: tune into Sentient SABER Sessions, our audio stream of long-form conversations between founding masters, academy builders, and competitors who are shaping this discipline in real time.
Real conversations happen: video chat, audio chat, group discussions, private messages. Club Sabernet is built for real human connection, not scrolling, not passive consumption.
The People Behind Club Sabernet
Club Sabernet is operated by the team at Light Sword Training Academy and powered by a growing community of passionate warriors from across the United States and beyond.
Our founding masters include:
Sijo Nathan Young: Father of the Forms. The nine forms are his. World champion competitor and a second-generation JKD practitioner of Bruce Lee's lineage.
Sifu Edward Armstrong: The Academy Builder. Co-Founder and CEO of Light Sword Training Academy, President and Treasurer of the Light Sword Martial Arts Federation.
Sifu Julliana Armstrong: Co-Founder. Delivered the program on military bases, international referee, 3x WEKAF National Champion and 2x World Champion under GSBA. Vice President, Secretary and Competition Director of the Federation.
Sifu Nick Benseman: The stunt and film professional of the founding team; the stunt record is his.
Our Mission
To build a light sword warrior community worth belonging to, one sash, one warrior, one connection at a time, and to stand together as the sport earns its recognition.
We are on the path. We are building it together.
