1. Introduction

Welcome to Club Sabernet ("we," "our," or "us"). Club Sabernet is the official online community, member platform and course home of Light Sword Training Academy ("LSTA"), operated at clubsabernet.com by LSTA and its administrators, 4701 Shore Dr., Ste. #103-440, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you visit the Platform, create an account, buy a course, take a course, or take part in the community. By creating an account, purchasing, or using Club Sabernet, you agree to this Privacy Policy. The LSTA Privacy Policy covers the LSTA and Sifu Armstrong websites and programs; this policy covers the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Username, email address and password when you register, or the email address you enter when you buy as a guest (we create your account with it)
  • Profile information such as your name, photo, bio, date of birth, location and academy
  • Messages, posts, comments and content you share within the community
  • Course activity: enrollments, lessons opened and completed, quiz answers, and form videos you submit for instructor review
  • Purchase information: what you bought and when, your name and email, and your billing country. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number
  • Rank, testing and competition information recorded to your profile
  • Support requests and anything else you send us

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address and device information
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited, features used and time of your visits
  • Cookies and similar technologies (Section 7)
  • Whether emails we send are delivered, opened or clicked

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account, including accounts created at guest checkout
  • Process purchases, deliver courses and program access, and administer refunds, guarantees and credits
  • Provide and improve the Platform and its features, including courses, groups, events, the leaderboard and streaming
  • Return instructor feedback on the form videos you submit and record ranks you earn
  • Enable communication between community members
  • Send emails about your account, orders and courses, and about LSTA programs (you can unsubscribe from marketing at any time)
  • Send push notifications about community activity, with your permission
  • Moderate content and enforce our Community Guidelines
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the experience
  • Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of members and others

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, our legal bases are performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Platform, and legal obligation.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: Stripe (payments), Brevo (email and text messaging), Bunny Stream (course video delivery), Firebase (push notifications), LiveKit (video and audio chat), OpenRouter (AI assistant features), Icecast (audio streaming), and our hosting and security providers. Each receives only what it needs to perform its service. Club Sabernet itself runs on servers we operate.
  • LSTA and its instructors: Club Sabernet is an LSTA platform. Your enrollment, course progress, form videos and rank information are available to LSTA and to the certified instructors who coach and grade you.
  • Your academy: If you train at a licensed academy or Shadow Circle, your academy's operator may see your membership, rank and attendance information for the programs it runs.
  • The Light Sword Martial Arts Federation: If you register for sanctioned competition or hold a federation rank, your name, academy, rank and results are shared with LSMAF and its competition system, where they may be published.
  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order or government authority.
  • Safety: To protect the rights, safety or property of Club Sabernet, our members or others.
  • Business transfers: If the Platform is reorganized, merged or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and remains covered by this policy until it is updated.

5. Public Information

Information you share publicly on Club Sabernet, including your username, profile photo, bio, rank, leaderboard standing and posts in public groups, is visible to other members and, for some pages, to visitors. Exercise caution about what personal information you share publicly.

6. Email, Text Messages and Push Notifications

Email: When you create an account or make a purchase we send you account and order emails, and we may email you about LSTA programs. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Account and order messages continue while you hold an account.

Text messages: If you give us a mobile number and opt in, we may text you about your account, your orders and our programs. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share your mobile number or opt-in with third parties for their marketing.

Push notifications: If you grant permission, we send push notifications about community activity, messages and updates. You can withdraw permission at any time in your device settings.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, secure the Platform and understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect your ability to use certain features.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Order and payment records are kept for seven years for tax and accounting purposes. Rank and competition records may be kept as part of the federation's permanent record. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your other personal information within a reasonable time, unless we must keep it for legal purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

Club Sabernet is not intended for children under 13, and purchases require you to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and will delete it promptly if we learn we have. Members aged 13 to 17 take part with a parent or guardian's consent, and their parent or guardian may contact us about their information.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and opt out of marketing and push notifications. To exercise a right, email support@clubsabernet.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

California residents have the rights to know, delete and correct under the California Consumer Privacy Act; we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. EEA, UK and Swiss residents may also complain to their local data protection authority; transfers to the United States rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

11. Security

We use industry-standard measures including SSL encryption, secure database storage and access controls, on servers we operate, to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your login confidential and tell us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access.

12. International Visitors

Club Sabernet is operated from the United States. By using the Platform you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your home country.

13. Third-Party Links

Club Sabernet links to third-party websites, including Light Sword Training Academy, Sifu Armstrong, the Light Sword Trading Post, LSMAF, Holistically Simple and licensed academies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites and encourage you to review their policies.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of Club Sabernet after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
